About the role

Working as part of the Product Development team, this role will apply Test & Validation engineering skills to support the design and development of commercial products for use in applications ranging from small portable power devices to motive and industrial power systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting tests to the requirements of validation plans to meet project objectives and milestones.  Recording and following defined test methods and work instructions to suit product requirements for functionality and safety.

The individual will perform all assigned product validation activities, including endurance, environmental, robustness and certification testing and will generate, analyse and report results from testing, using statistical tools to calculate the predicted reliability of products.  Participation in failure root cause analysis and product quality life-cycle investigations.

Operating and maintaining assigned test equipment, the individual will be responsible for ensuring a safe, tidy and healthy work environment and for completing H&S documentation for all activities.

About you

You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess a relevant non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience.  Typically, you will have 1-2 years of relevant industrial experience post completion of your degree or completed several years of post-graduate research.  Membership of a relevant professional body is advantageous.

You will be able to demonstrate experience of product validation testing, test reporting and data analysis, as well as awareness of the following validation principles; reliability growth, accelerated life testing and statistical analysis.

You will have proven capability of delivering work packages on time and to commercial and technical requirements.

You will ideally have experience of working in a test or research laboratory and have worked as part of a cross-functional team. 

It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment.  You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team and be an effective verbal and written communications of both technical and non-technical information.
