The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and its national laboratories have been studying the benefits and uses of hydrogen, dubbing their findings the “hydrogen at scale” (H2@Scale) initiative. Hydrogen’s value lies in its ability to provide benefits across multiple sectors and in decoupling energy conversion from energy storage, unlike conventional batteries.
