The Committee

The Intelligent Energy Charitable Trust is governed by a committee comprised of three Intelligent Energy employees and three external representatives which meets twice a year. 

Meet the Committee

Jon Walker

Jon Walker

Director of Enterprise Development

Jon recently retired as Director of Enterprise Development at Loughborough University, a wide ranging role focusing on major projects and proposals including the Science and Enterprise Park.  A graduate of the University, Jon has lived in Loughborough since 1982 and worked at the University since 1986.

He attends a local church and has extensive connections across the town, including in the voluntary sector.  He is passionate about building strong communities, and brings ten years’ experience with the University’s donations committee to the Intelligent Energy Trust.

Caroline Newitt

Caroline Newitt

HR Advisor

Caroline is a HR Advisor who joined Intelligent Energy in late 2012. Caroline was born in the Charnwood area and has worked in Secretarial/PA positions all her working life.  She was delighted to have been voted as Secretary of the Charitable Trust Committee. Being part of a team who gives something back to the local community for Caroline is an absolute pleasure.

Ronan Wilde

Ronan Wilde

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Ronan is a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who joined Intelligent Energy at the end of 2018 and who primarily works on the engineering development of Intelligent Energy’s air-cooled systems.

Ronan grew up in Charnwood Borough and has seen the direct positive impact of several of the Charitable Trust's awardees in the local area. He is appreciative of being voted onto the committee and excited to have the opportunity to be part of making a real difference.

Lauren Gurney

Lauren Gurney

HR Director

Lauren joined the committee as the company’s management representative in October 2021. She is the company’s HR Director and has been with Intelligent Energy since 2012.  Having worked in Loughborough for over half of her career she is excited to be able to play a part in giving something back to the local community and to the wide range of worthy causes that the committee is able to support each year.

Thomas Dean

Thomas Dean

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Tom is a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who joined Intelligent Energy in early 2021 and works on aviation focused products. He graduated from Loughborough University in 2011 and has lived & worked in the area ever since.

He brings experience working and volunteering with several charities and NGO’s, both locally and internationally, and values the opportunity to make a positive impact in the local community with the Charitable Trust team.

Senior Systems Engineer

Claire studied at Loughborough University before making the town her permanent home and has now lived in the Charnwood area for over fifteen years and worked for Intelligent Energy for the last three. Outside of work she is a volunteer for a local girl guiding group and is looking forward to learning about all the amazing work that local volunteers and groups do for the area.

Company Director

Ed is founder and Managing Director of CommAgility Ltd, headquartered on the Loughborough University Science and Enterprise Park and providing 4G and 5G technology to customers around the world. He has worked in Loughborough since 1993 and lived in Charnwood for the past 10 years. He is involved in several local charities and community associations as Treasurer or Chair.

Councillor Jenny Bokor

Councillor Jenny Bokor

Cabinet Lead Member for Loughborough

Jenny started her career at IBM UK Ltd where she worked for 20 years, as a Senior Accounting Manager & then as the European Marketing Manager for Library Systems. 

She has lived in Wymeswold for 35 years and became a Borough Councillor for the Wolds in 2007. She is currently the Cabinet Member responsible for Loughborough.

Jenny does a lot of voluntary work including running the Wolds community magazine,  being a Trustee at John Storer House & Charnwood Arts, as well as an Honorary Patron of the All Saints Wildlife Community Garden.
