David Woolhouse was appointed Intelligent Energy's Chief Executive Officer in October 2018.
David has 17 years’ experience in leading businesses in different engineering and manufacturing sectors, including electrical distribution and rail. He has set up and led multi-site operations in the UK, Middle East and China and has experience in successfully growing complex engineering concerns with over 1000 employees.
David holds an MA (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from Cambridge University and is a Chartered Electrical Engineer. He also has an MBA from Warwick University Business School.
Alistair Ball is Chief Financial Officer at Intelligent Energy and a member of the management team. Previous roles at the company include; Acting CEO, Operations Director and Commercial Finance Director. Prior to joining Intelligent Energy Alistair held financial positions at National Grid, Nissan, Infinis and Rolls-Royce.
He has a B.Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Coventry University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Dr Chris Dudfield is the Chief Technology Officer and a member of the management team at Intelligent Energy, where he has worked since the launch of the business in 2001. Over the last 19 years Chris has held several positions including R&D Director, Director of Operations and Director of Programmes. Chris has worked continuously in the field of fuel cell technology since 1990, covering experience in fuel cell stack, fuel processing and fuel cell systems technology. He has extensive knowledge and expertise of fuel cell and hydrogen generation technologies including applications across stationary power, motive and portable power markets.
Chris is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and holds Chartered Chemist and Chartered Scientist professional status.
Dr Lee Juby is Chief Sales Officer and a member of the management team at Intelligent Energy.
Lee first joined Intelligent Energy in 2012 holding a variety of commercial roles. He has twenty years’ experience in the development and commercialization of advanced technology focused on the generation, conversion and delivery of electrical power, including a 5 year appointment at Rolls Royce and work as a consultant engineer for EA Technology.
In 2007 Lee took up the position of CEO of VPhase plc, a company newly listed on the London market. After raising significant funds in 2008 through the enlargement of the share capital, Lee delivered the complete product engineering and market introduction of a novel domestic energy saving technology.
Lee is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology and a Chartered Engineer with a doctorate from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology.
Martin Schaefer was appointed as Intelligent Energy’s Operations Director in July 2019.
Martin has held leadership roles in Operations Management for over 15 years in the Marine and Automotive sectors. Prior to this, Martin spent 10 years in Manufacturing Engineering management in a Tier 1 Automotive environment. Martin has previously held roles at Guidance Marine, Gibbs Technologies and NSK Steering Systems.
Martin holds a first class honours Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and an MBA in Manufacturing Management, both gained at Coventry University.
Katie Russell is the Marketing Director and a member of the management team at Intelligent Energy. Katie has worked for the business since April 2010, during this time Katie has also held the roles of Corporate Communications Director and Customer Experience Director. Katie is responsible for the Company’s marketing and communications activities as well as the customer experience function and end-to-end customer strategy.
Katie has over 20 years’ experience in Marketing and Communications across several sectors including, business telecommunications, financial services and energy. Katie is a member of The Chartered Institute of Marketing (MCIM).
Lauren Gurney is the HR Director at Intelligent Energy and a member of the management team. She has worked for the business since April 2012. During her time at Intelligent Energy, Lauren has also held the roles of HR Business Partner and Head of Engagement & Reward. Leading the HR function, Lauren is responsible for delivery of the Company’s People Strategy, including employee engagement, learning & development, reward & benefits, internal communications and recruitment.
Lauren has over 18 years’ experience in the field of HR, supporting sales, manufacturing and engineering functions in organisations such as RF Brookes, Polypipe Civils and Tyco Valves & Controls.
Lauren is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.
Ashley Kells is the Programme Director and a member of the management team. Ashley has worked at Intelligent Energy since 2002 where he has held both technical and programme management roles.
Ashley has PhD in the field of optimised control systems for hybrid electric vehicles, is a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and a certified Project Management Professional.
Jasbir Uppal is Head of Legal and Company Secretary at Intelligent Energy and a member of the Management Team. Jasbir became Head of Legal in April 2017 and manages the Intelligent Energy Legal Team having responsibility for the company’s global legal and corporate compliance function.
Jasbir graduated with a LLB (Hons) degree from the University of the West of England, Bristol and completed the Legal Practice course at Leeds Metropolitan University. After qualifying in private practice Jasbir embarked on an in-house legal career gaining over 20 years’ legal and corporate compliance experience from previous Head of Legal roles at Just Group plc and Celador International Limited.
Ing. Bc. Joanna Richart MBA, MCIPS, CEng, is Business Development Director at Intelligent Energy focused on high power fuel cell technology.
Joanna re-joined Intelligent Energy in 2017 after spending two years at Torotrak plc, where, as Business Development Director, she had global responsibility for sales of its Energy Recovery Module.
During her career at Intelligent Energy Joanna has represented the company in various hydrogen mobility consortia including as a member of several European Union funded programs and was appointed as an expert on the European Commission’s Sustainable Transport Forum to support the deployment of “Clean fuel for transport” directive.
