About the role
In this role you will lead the integration of high-power fuel cells systems into automotive applications. You will provide co-ordinated design support and integration capability to Intelligent Energy’s customers – enabling fast, robust and safe integration of high-power fuel cell systems. You will feedback customer requirements to the Product Development team for automotive vehicle applications and associated productionisation processes.
You will ensure all customers have fuel cells installed in a functionally correct, safe and reliable manner, protecting and enhancing Intelligent Energy Intellectual Property.
You will support our customers to ensure successful in-vehicle functional testing, along with associated track and road test programmes. This will entail physical support and issue resolution along with efficient and accurate document and data management.
You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered status with a relevant professional body is advantageous, as is evidence of further professional learning in the fields of leadership and/or engineering.
You will have significant industrial experience post completion of your degree, which will include the design of installation of complex plant and equipment, preferably in an automotive environment. Ideally this will include integration of multiple electronic systems and design for aerothermal considerations.
An understanding of the automotive industry, ideally with previous experience within an automotive OEM or relevant Tier 1 supplier is essential, along with an understanding and experience of hybrid system architecture and integration in motive applications.
Experience of systems engineering; specifically, requirements management, verification planning and execution is required.
It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues. As such, excellent communication skills are vital.
