About the role

Working as part of the Product Development team, you will apply LabVIEW and TestStand software engineering skills to support the design and development of software for Fuel Cell test stations and component testing.

You will be responsible for delivering timely support to a small team of engineers responsible for delivering fuel cell and component test stations.  You will develop and support equipment using USB-DAQs, CompactDAQ, PCIe-DAQ, CRIO, to enhance and support existing test stations in software, signal integrity and hardware interface.

Taking build requirements from cross functional engineering and manufacturing departments for future rig developments, you will design test station software using LabVIEW and/or TestStand and in accordance with Intelligent Energy processes and best practices, adhering to software development lifecycle and release process.

You will also be responsible for the in-house training, coaching and mentoring of LabVIEW and TestStand users in the business.

About you

You will ideally hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline and will have relevant industrial experience.  You will be a certified LabVIEW Associate Developer and will ideally be certified to Architect level.

You will have a good working knowledge of NI-DAQ, Compact RIO and of various communication protocols including CAN and RS232, alongside an understanding of LabVIEW, TestStand and of interfacing non-NI instrumentation to LabVIEW and a good knowledge of National Instruments design patterns.

You will have worked in a product development environment, following product lifecycle principles and good software quality assurance, including configuration management, source control and documentation.

It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment.  You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues.  As such, excellent communication skills are vital.

The salary for this position is up to a maximum of £31,999 based on skills and experience.
