About the role

Working as part of the Product Development team, the Project Engineer will take or identify packages of work and work with external suppliers to get these delivered.

The project engineer provides a key link between the design team and external experts, enabling us to combine internal design specialisms with external capability to accelerate our product development and delivery. 

About you

Degree qualified to BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess a relevant non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience. 

You will have a proven track record of defining and delivering sub-systems and/or full products through effective engagement of outsourcing suppliers

As a key representative between IE and our suppliers, communication and relationship management ability are vital.  Contributing to this would be a good understanding of systems engineering principles and how they should be applied throughout the full engineering lifecycle.

You will be a creative problem solver, showing a history of solving both technical and engineering process related issues.

It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment.

You will be an enthusiastic engineer with a history of working collaboratively to nurture cross functional team and company relationships with both technical and non-technical colleagues through mutual trust and honesty.

You will have significant relevant industrial experience.  Membership of a relevant professional body, progressing towards chartered status is advantageous, as is evidence by further professional learning in technical and/or leadership skills.

Experience with automotive design or electric power train would be advantageous.

This salary on offer for this position will be up to £44,000 per annum based on skills and experience.
