About the role
A key member of our Component Development team, you will have full responsibility for the manufacture of fuel cell conceptual development components. Working from engineering drawings and conceptual ideas you will use traditional manufacturing methods and CAD/CAM systems to supply parts of a suitable quality and functionality to satisfy product development projects.
Working closely with the Product Development & Manufacturing Development teams you will ensure that design for manufacture is applied to minimise manufacturing and assembly times and cost reduction.
You will deliver best practice during manufacture and delivery of high quality, accurate components, applying a cleanliness culture and working within EH&S standards at all items.
You will design and manufacture any associated tooling, jigs and fixtures and document manufacturing and build processes, including component test procedures to enable seamless handover to production.
You will have completed a mechanical engineering apprenticeship and hold a City & Guilds (or equivalent). An ONC or HNC is desirable but not essential.
With proven experience in toolmaking and/or precision engineering, you will be conversant with all traditional machining and fitting practices and be able to operate CNC machinery and have experience of working with a CAD-CAM package.
You will have the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with high quality standards and an excellent attention to detail. You will be able to work on your own initiative and manage your time effectively.

The salary for this position is up to £40,000 per annum based on skills and experience.
