About the role
Working as part of our Operations team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering quality part and process preparation. Manage the delivery of off-tool, off-process parts and final part approval to ensure the smooth launch of new products
To provide technical assistance to suppliers to aid the removal roadblocks, establish root cause and robust solutions to deviation from customer expectations.
Work with programme management to ensure that all the milestone deliverables are achieved on time, minimize/mitigate any delays in the project by working closely with the project team and the supply chain.
You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess a relevant non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience. You will hold lead audit qualifications in ISO9000 and IATF16949. Ideally you will hold an AS9100 lead audit qualification. A Six Sigma black or green belt certification would be advantageous.
You will have demonstrable experience of the automotive industry, within an OEM or Tier 1, alongside proven experience of APQP (PPAP, PSW, FMEA). You will be able to demonstrate significant experience of supplier development and relationship management.
Experience of assembly line set and growth to volume and development of quality management systems to IATF16949 and AS9100 are desirable.
Experience with quality processes, quality improvement or lean manufacturing is desirable, as is knowledge of manufacturing processes such as assembly, machining, welding, casting, stamping, plating, plastic moulding, metal cutting, steel making, steel processing and PCB assembly.
It is key to us that you have an analytical mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues. As such, excellent communication skills are vital. Strong commercial awareness and supplier relationship skills are also essential.

This salary for this position will be up to £42,000 per annum based on skills and experience.
