About the role
Working as part of the Fuel Cell Research & Development team, you will conduct research into our class-leading fuel cell technology, both new and existing. You will be responsible for developing innovative solutions, which feed into commercial products for use in applications ranging from stationary power to automotive and UAVs.
You will plan and deliver work programmes to achieve stack research targets, designing and managing tests, analysing technical data and generating reports. You will work closely with the Product Development team to ensure research findings are effectively fed into product designs.
You will contribute to longer term research strategy and be responsible to writing and reviewing risk assessments and safe systems of work. You will lead, coach and mentor less experienced colleagues.
You will hold a Batchelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline. A relevant post graduate qualification is desirable.
You will have significant experience within an industrial PEM fuel cell research environment. You will be able to demonstrate depth of experience in electrochemistry and electrochemical methods as applied to PEM fuel cells, e.g. electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, catalyst surface area characterisation, electrochemical modelling. You will have demonstrable experience with software such as Matlab, LabView and Visual Basic.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are vital, as is the ability to analyse data and write reports. It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues.

The salary on offer for this position is in the range of £32,000 - £42,999 based on skills and experience.
