About the role

Working as part of our Operations team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering quality part and process preparation with suppliers. You will manage the delivery of accurate parts and final part approval to ensure the smooth launch of new products.

You will provide technical assistance to our suppliers to remove roadblocks, identify the root cause of issues and come up with long term solutions to continually improve the manufacture and quality of our products.

Working closely with the programme management team, you will ensure that programme deliverables are on time, minimising and mitigating any delays through close liaison with our suppliers.

About you

You will hold a Batchelors degree or vocational qualification (HNC, C&G) in a relevant discipline.  Typically, you will have around 5 years of relevant industrial experience.  You will hold a lead audit qualification.  Ideally you will hold an IPC A610/620 (specialist) qualification. A Six Sigma black or green belt certification would be advantageous.

You will have a thorough understanding of the handover between Product Development and Manufacturing, with demonstrable knowledge of component manufacturing processes and associated quality control methods, together with experience of APQP/PPAP/Control Plans/MSA etc.

A proven record of supplier development and relationship management is essential.

Experience with quality processes, quality improvement or lean manufacturing is desirable, as is knowledge of manufacturing processes such as electronics PCB assembly, machining, welding, casting, stamping, heat-trace process, plating, plastic moulding, metal cutting, steel making and steel processing.

It is key to us that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment.  You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues.  As such, excellent communication skills are vital.

The salary for this position is up to £42,000 per annum based on skills and experience.
