About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the IE team and to apply your passion for Systems Engineering to the design and development of our Evaporatively Cooled fuel cell technology for automotive applications.
Working as part of a cross-functional team, you will be responsible for delivering systems and architecture definition to support development from prototype through to product. This includes the management and documentation of product requirements and their devolution into sub-systems and functions and responsibility for managing and documenting safety engineering to support successful release of products to market.
You will have at least 2 years product development experience. What is key to us however, is that you have a commercial mindset and the ability to work with a flexible and solutions focused approach, in an agile and fast paced environment. You must also be able to work collaboratively with a cross-functional team alongside both technical and non-technical colleagues. As such, excellent communication skills are vital.
You will hold a BEng, BSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or possess an appropriate non-degree level qualification alongside suitable industrial experience.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of defining and delivering sub-systems and/or full products and of implementation of DfX principles, in particular design for manufacture. Ideally you will have experience of assessing and selecting appropriate manufacturing processes.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of successful delivery and of working effectively within a cross-functional team, with both technical and non-technical people.

The salary for this position is up to £38,000 per annum based on skills and experience.
