I joined Intelligent Energy in March 2023 with a background in systems engineering and delivering high integrity controllers for civil aerospace.  I became a Technical Lead for IE-FLIGHT one year later, picking up key aspects of the H2GEAR programme such as functionality elaboration from the lab safety cases, test rig commissioning, TRL demonstration planning. I then outlined the technical scope of delivery for all partners and subcontractors of the HEIGHTS programme when it launched in May 2025.

In my role, I am responsible for leading the cross functional team to deliver high-power units that meet the propulsion system requirements within the programme timescales.  The cutting-edge nature of the programme and the long timescales of aerospace development mean there are plenty of challenges to overcome. I really enjoy problem solving and chasing the right balance between “good enough” and “aero friendly”.

My experience in systems engineering has allowed me to introduce some new ways of working and it is great to see the wider team grow and expand their skill set.  Through the better and better definition of our IE-FLIGHT prototypes and demonstration of their capabilities, I am now looking forward to engaging with potential customer and large aircraft integrators.
