Intelligent Energy fuel cell technology enables California CORE approval for mobile power units

Loughborough, UK – 03 November 2026 – Intelligent Energy, a leading developer of hydrogen fuel cell technology, today announced that mobile power units developed by its North American distributor, (THS), are now eligible under California’s Clean Off-Road Equipment (CORE) Voucher Incentive Project.
The approval covers THS’ 20kW hydrogen fuel cell mobile power unit, which incorporates Intelligent Energy fuel cell technology to provide clean, reliable off-grid power for construction, industrial and temporary power applications.
A key milestone supporting the rollout is the North American certification of Intelligent Energy’s IE-POWER™ 4 fuel cell system, which is now a recognised component in the U.S. and Canada with ETL listing and forms the heart of the THS 20kW mobile power solution. The certification, achieved in July 2025, enables commercial deployment across the region and provides customers with access to proven hydrogen fuel cell technology supported by local integration and service capabilities through THS.

California’s CORE program is designed to accelerate the adoption of zero-emission off-road equipment by providing point-of-sale incentives that reduce upfront costs for qualified purchasers. With THS mobile power units now listed as eligible equipment, customers can benefit from financial support when transitioning away from diesel-powered generation.
